Before You Drill is currently a small public repair-decision site. This page explains what the site does and does not collect in the current launch version.
Current site state
Before You Drill currently publishes repair-decision guides, checklists, and a planning calculator. The current launch version does not offer user accounts, public posting, file uploads, community submissions, comments, or live media uploads.
The site is not currently running advertising pixels, email signup forms, or affiliate tracking links unless that changes through a later approved launch update.
Hosting and basic logs
Like most websites, the hosting provider may process basic technical information needed to deliver the site, such as IP address, browser type, device information, requested pages, timestamps, and error logs.
These logs are used for security, debugging, reliability, and site operation. They are not the same as a reader account, profile, or repair-history record.
Analytics, advertising, and affiliate tracking
The current launch version does not include active advertising pixels, email marketing pixels, or live affiliate tracking links.
If analytics, advertising, affiliate tracking, or email capture are added later, this page should be updated before those features go live.
Contact messages and photos
If you use the contact form, Before You Drill may receive the information you submit, such as your name, email address, topic, and message. We use contact messages to respond when appropriate, review correction requests, fix site issues, and improve editorial coverage.
Do not submit emergency information, sensitive personal information, private repair records, photos, addresses, lease documents, payment information, or time-sensitive repair requests through the form.
Contact form messages are not public posts, service requests, repair diagnoses, quote requests, permit/code reviews, professional approvals, or Handyista booking requests.
Community, accounts, and uploads
The current launch version does not allow readers to create accounts, publish community posts, comment on pages, upload photos, or submit public Q&A.
Any future account, community, upload, or moderation feature would require updated privacy rules, community terms, and a live moderation process before launch.
Safety and professional advice boundary
Before You Drill provides educational repair-decision information. It does not provide professional diagnosis, emergency help, legal advice, permit/code review, or a guarantee that a repair is safe to attempt.
For electrical, plumbing, gas, structural, mold, water-damage, ladder, heavy-mounting, permit-sensitive, or other high-risk situations, readers should use qualified professional help.
Updates
This page should be updated when the site's actual features change, including contact methods, analytics, affiliate links, advertising, accounts, uploads, or community features.
